It was an enjoyable and successful first year of displaying several of my furniture pieces at the Stable Gallery down the road in Damariscotta, this past summer. Such a great group of kind and creative people there, and many more that I enjoyed meeting at monthly opening receptions; I look forward to being there again in summer 2012. Again, I participated in the Maine Home + Design’s Midcoast Show and the Maine Boats Homes and Harbors Show in Rockland this past summer-- all in the ongoing effort to gain some exposure for these things I create as well as see what others are creating…and meet people—something I enjoy more than I ever could have anticipated.

With the winter months approaching, commissioned projects are lined up and underway in my shop. I’m excited about 2012 with plans to exhibit at a couple larger shows this year. I’m chomping at the bit to begin prototyping several new pieces I’ve been imagining for some time and, in the spring, I will take them on the road to exhibit at the Philadelphia Invitational Furniture Show March 23 –25th at the show’s new downtown venue. Additionally, I will be in Northampton, Massachusetts at the Paradise City Arts Festival on Memorial Day weekend, May 26- 28.

Sooner and closer to home, I’m hoping people will come to see and say Hi at the following two show openings where I will have pieces on display in Maine this winter.

My Wedge Table was selected for the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship’s juried Maine Wood 2012 Biennial Exhibition at the Messler Gallery in Rockport. The opening reception is on Friday, December 2, 2011 from 5-7. The exhibition runs from Dec 2 through April 6.

I will also have at least one piece at another juried exhibition, The Inspired Hand V, which will kick off with an opening reception on Friday January 20th from 6-8 at USM’s Atrium Gallery at the Lewiston/Auburn campus. This exhibition is sponsored by the Maine Crafts Association and will have works in all media. It runs through March 16, 2012.
